Reiki Classes and Retreats

Reiki Classes

Reiki Master, Paula Terrero, lead teacher and the Sacred Spring Reiki Collective Reiki Masters offer regularly scheduled Level 1 and Level 2 Reiki training for those students who would like to begin their journey with the system of Reiki. All Reiki classes are taught from a traditional Japanese perspective. The lineage of the three main teachers, Paula Terrero, Frances Varela and Jacque Schneider is Usui Reiki Ryoho. Our teachers have also been trained in western Reiki lineages Usui Shiki Ryoho. Our teachers are deeply engaged in the Reiki programs offered by Sacred Spring Reiki Collective such as community Reiki clinics, Reiki practitioner development activities, leading Reiki practice circles and community healing events.

Level 1 Reiki Classes called Shoden introduce the student to the system of Reiki, teach the student about the underlying principles that guide all aspects of the system. Students will practice grounding meditations, will learn about Japanese energetic centers, the history of the system of Reiki, how to conduct a self-treatment, tools for cultivating your capacity to connect to the energy of Reiki, and how to offer hands on healing treatments to family and friends.

Level 2 Classes called Okuden deepen the connection of the student to the Reiki energy-and gives students additional tools and practices to share Reiki with non family members as a professional Reiki practitioner. Classes are conducted in an atmosphere of relaxation, study and contemplation. 

Initiation, also known by attunements or the Japanese word Reiju, is the ritual through which the student gains the awareness of the power to heal that resides within him/her. This ritual is central to the System of Reiki and it is performed by Reiki Masters. Initiations are performed in all three levels of the Reiki System. In the first level class, four initiations are performed and will be performed in person. In Level 2, there are 3 initiations. You will receive your initiations from our entire team of teachers.

Reiki Level 1 Shoden Classes 2024: These classes will be offered on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday

  • Classes for 2024:

    • January 12, 13, 14: Friday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Saturday, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM and Sunday, 9:30 Am to 3:30 PM. Taught by Paula Terrero and Frances Varela

    • May 3, 4, 5: Friday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Saturday, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM and Sunday, 9:30 Am to 3:30PM. Taught by Paula Terrero and Frances Varela

    • December 6, 7, 8: Friday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Saturday, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM and Sunday, 9:30 Am to 3:30PM. Taught by Paula Terrero and Frances Varela

      COST: $175.00 (includes class manual). $50 deposits required to hold your spot. Deposits are NON REFUNDABLE if cancellation occurs with 14 days of class.

Pre-Requisite for Okuden Level 2: You must have taken Shoden Level 1 at least 6 month prior to class and have an established Reiki practice using some of the practices learned in Okuden such as treating self and others, working with the Reiki principles and meditation. Upon request to register for the class, you will be sent a questionnaire to fill out describing your Reiki practice.
